🗽 Statue of Liberty – The Icon of America You Must See

Few symbols in the world are as closely connected to a nation as the Statue of Liberty is to the United States. Standing at the entrance of New York Harbor for over 135 years, she has welcomed all who arrive, becoming a universal symbol of hope, freedom, and new beginnings.

📜 The Statue of Liberty (officially Liberty Enlightening the World) was a gift from France to the United States, celebrating the 100th anniversary of American independence.

Designer: Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi (sculptor)
Engineer: Gustave Eiffel (the same man behind the Eiffel Tower!)
Dedicated: October 28, 1886
Location: Liberty Island (formerly Bedloe’s Island), New York Harbor

The statue was not only a gift but also a collaboration — France built the statue, while America funded the pedestal. To make it happen, journalist Joseph Pulitzer organized a nationwide fundraising campaign.
