Two Islands, Two Countries, One Day Apart!

In the middle of the Bering Strait, between Alaska and Russia , lie two tiny islands:

Little Diomede – U.S. territory, home to about 80 people.

Big Diomede – Russian territory, uninhabited except for a military base.

Here’s the wild part: they’re only 4 km (2.5 miles) apart… but separated by the International Date Line.

From Little Diomede, you can literally see tomorrow on Big Diomede!

So close you could kayak in under an hour… but you’d cross into another country AND jump forward a whole day.

Talk about time travel!

Would you visit if you could?
